Our sea trial on nova jean! With Captain Phillip at the helm we set off to the beautiful island of Île d'Yeu 26 nautical miles north of here. After several hiccups with the channel exit and putting up the sails, we arrived at Plage des Vieilles. There we swam, snorkeled and ate lovely french baguette with cheese & salad.
On our return we had the pleasure of being accompanied by several dolphins who came over for a short play.
All up we were out 11 hours on a lovely sunny 37 degree day.
We are now settled into the marina for at least the next 2 weeks while the added aftermarket additions are being installed. Les sables d'olonne is such a beautiful city, we feel privileged to immerse ourselves in the local culture, spending most days exploring on our trusted Bill & Ben.
Great photos and the one of the beach reminds me of Portsea beach near the pub. Back in 1958, a girlfriend and I stayed for a week over Christmas at Portsea Pub and had a ball. I had just turned 21 in the previous October so that particular photo caught my eye..
Great photos and videos seems your already falling in love with Europe. Next will be selling the home in Sydney and moving to a nice little village with a harbor in Europe ;) Remember enjoy life while you can... Greetings from Spain
Congratulations both. Sounds like it has been a bit off a trial getting this far, but boy was it worth it for those beautiful seas. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures. H
oh my goodness, how's the serenity!
