Figueira da Foz which translates to ‘fig tree at the mouth of the river’ is nicknamed Rainha das Praias (Queen of Beaches). We tied up at a marina here for a few days to escape the Atlantic weather. It's a lovely town with km's of beachfront littered with boardwalks, restaurants and cafes. For the first time since Les sabs we were able to find decent hardware and shopping malls where we could stock up on necessities, while also enjoying the sites 'fig foz' has to offer.
