Cinque Terre (The Five Lands) is a group of five small villages built on the shores of the mountainous area North of Porto Venere. They are a UNESCO world heritage site, the subject of countless postcards and a favourite destination for cruise ships. Our visit started off in spectacular form when we managed to catch by far the largest Tuna (largest fish of any kind for that matter) during our passage from Portofino to Cinque Terre. There was enough meat to feed us for a month even after sharing some of it with fellow sailors. The Five towns were beautiful as expected with the only detractor being the stifling heat.
