Cascais 11 October, 2021

Cascais was and is a flourishing fishing port that became a very fashionable summer resort town during the 19th century, after the Portuguese monarchy converted the old fort into their summer residence. For the cruiser, this pretty little harbour makes for a great jumping point to visit Portugal's capital city Lisbon, stunning historic Sintra or the most Western point of the European continent, Cabo da Roca. For us, our 4 day stopover quickly stretched out to 12 days as there was so much to see.

Here are some photos of Cascais and Cabo da Roca. Lisbon & Sintra blog post coming soon.

Right next to where our boat was parked in the marina!!
